Inleiding

Onze applicaties maken gebruik van het Microsoft .NET applicatieframework.

Indien u deze pagina leest, dan heeft u waarschijnlijk een melding gekregen dat het framework op uw computer verouderd is. We raden u aan het framework in dat geval bij te werken naar de meest recente versie voor uw besturingssysteem.

Wat is het .NET Framework?

Het Microsoft .NET Framework is een verzameling van programmacode die ontwikkelaars in staat stelt applicaties te bouwen zonder alles zelf te moeten programmeren. Het framework bevat een hele reeks bibliotheken en acties die allerlei handelingen zonder al te veel complex programmeerwerk mogelijk maken. Hieronder valt onder meer het lezen en schrijven van bestanden, het versleutelen ervan, het afspelen van media, het uitwisselen van gegevens via het internet of het tonen van meldingen. Dankzij deze bibliotheken vermijden ontwikkelaars fouten en zorgen ze ervoor dat hun applicaties op heel wat systemen werken.

Wie maakt het?

Het framework is ontwikkeld door Microsoft en wordt met regelmaat van updates voorzien. Het is sinds Windows XP standaard op elk Windows systeem aanwezig en wordt door heel wat software gebruikt. Bij een Windows 10 upgrade wordt vaak ook het framework bijgewerkt als hier intussen een update voor is voorzien. Indien u nog niet over de meest recente Windows versie beschikt, dan heeft u mogelijks nog een oudere versie van het framework.

Waarom bijwerken?

Bij elke update van het framework worden nieuwe functies toegevoegd, bestaande code verbeterd en gaan de prestaties en veiligheid erop vooruit. Het is om deze redenen dat de ontwikkelaars er soms voor kiezen om naar een recentere versie over te stappen voor hun applicaties, maar dan dient ook u deze nieuwere versie op uw systeem te installeren (voor zover deze nog niet aanwezig is).

Hoe bijwerken?

Er zijn twee opties om het framework bij te werken.

Optie 1: Windows (10) upgrade

Werk uw systeem bij naar de meest recente versie van het Windows besturingssysteem.

Standaard geïnstalleerde versies:

  • Windows 10 2019 May update: 4.8
  • Windows 10 2018 updates: 4.7.2
  • Windows 10 2017 Fall Creators Update: 4.7.1
  • Windows 10 2017 Creators Update: 4.7

Optie 2: Manueel

Download het installatiepakket van de Microsoft website en installeer het op uw systeem. Sinds versie 4.5 vervangt de meest recente versie de voorgaande.

Systeemvereisten

Belangrijk: niet elk besturingssysteem wordt door elke versie van het framework ondersteunt. Indien uw versie van Windows niet langer ondersteunt wordt, dan dient u Windows te upgraden of kan u de applicatie niet gebruiken.
